Cabling Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for cabling and termination of Cat3, Cat5, Cat6, CATV and various other wiring disciplines. The position includes the testing and troubleshooting of wiring problems.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for running new cabling in new or existing buildings.
- Termination and testing of new cabling.
- Responsible for testing and troubleshooting of cable.
- Setting up new telecommunications frames
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
- Knowledgeable in structured cabling and other advanced technologies
- Communicates effectively and appropriately when dealing with other departments and/or personnel
- Demonstrates the initiative and creativity for self-development within and outside of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Must have knowledge of basic computer skills and be able to demonstrate good writing skills.
- Previous wiring or data experience (Audio Installer, Network Installer, Cable Installer, etc.)
- Must work well with little supervision individually and in a team environment.
- Must be knowledgeable in various wiring configurations and terminations.
- Technical skills and knowledge of telecommunications industry and/or installation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Compensation Dependent Upon Qualifications: $12-$17 for technicians with less than 2 years’ experience. Up to $27/hr for experienced professional technicians.
